FlameHorse is delighted to announce 22k GOLD pendants! The gold is achieved by adding another step to the creation process which bonds 22k gold to the fine silver already on the glass. This is similar to the "keum boo" technique where 24k gold foil is burnished onto fine silver heated to about 900 degrees F. That process cannot be used on glass because of its sensitivity to rapid changes in temperature. In this process, three layers of gold are added to the silver and it's put into the kiln for final firing. The layer of gold is much thicker than what can be achieved using electro-plating and cannot be scratched or worn off since it has chemically bonded to the silver.
